Themuxicbox Unrevealed - Part 2

continued from Part 1..................................

I don't really have much of a memory of my Pri sch days. I just remembered that I was a transfer student(at Pri 1). Being a transfer student, I was definitely at a disadvantage as I was plucked away from friends whom I've just made and put to a place full of total strangers. I had to make friends all over again. As a child, I was rather scared that I cannot blend well into the groups.

People in my class were quite friendly. Especially the boys, I mixed with them rather quickly .... (Of cos! I was a Tomboy myself!) In fact, I always mix very well with boys when I was young. I like that guys don't bother whether you are prettier than them. They don't gossip about you or get angry over petty things. They don't shun you when you do things or think out of the group.

I remembered when I was in Pri 5.... I went swimming with my "best friend" (ahh~~ those days!) and got some cramps in the legs.... the very same night, another "gang" of girls called me up and ask me to go swimming with them the next day. I replied that I can't cause I went swimming with my best friend already (I can't tell them the truth! My mum's eavesdropping!)...

Naive me ...I became the enemy of that "gang" of girls the next day. Enemy! They shun me because I went swimming with my best friend and not with them! (how stupid to shun a person just because of that ..) I wonder.... if 7 different groups of girls ask me to go swim with them... that means I have to swim everyday of the week? Who says a gang of friends must always stick together... who says I have to do whatever they WANT me to do?

I wasn't a happy girl during my Pri sch days as rumors started to fly and enemies were made... haiz .... Another reason was because I was ugly ... FUGLY! With big black rimed spectacles, short hair, broad shoulders and dark complexion from swimming. and that explains why I did not take much photos of my Pri sch days *neh nehni bu bu~ don't show u photos!*

Photobucket

Its also during Pri sch that I joined choir~ since then I was always in choirs. I joined as an alto and graduated as an alto. However, that changed when I went into Secondary sch where I was transferred to the Sopranos. Performing on stage as a choir member and attending practices always make me happy even though I know I am just a small part of the group. Music is something that fascinates me. It makes me curious and wanting to know more. additional read

Being someone who does not like to travel (in Singapore), I chose a sch nearest to me and spend my next 4 years in there.

A very mis-understood person. Why? Because Teachers think I'm a good student when I am not. LOLX~ I read comics in class, play computer games till late at night and hang out at bowling centers after school even though I am a student councilor. I still managed to get good grades though but thats simply because I like studying. (at THAT time)

I'm a very curious person. Love to read history textbooks... love to see what color potatoes become when they touch iodine... Hence I will ponder and find out, research and read so long as it satisfy my curiosity.

Secondary 1 and 2 passed by quickly without any significance in my life. It was until secondary 3 that I found some real good friends who stayed with me even till now... and we took crazy photos:

(Guess which is me?)

(I'm sorry! Don't kill me for putting this photo up! But I know you all don't read my blog anyway tee hee hee)
I'm the one with the tie.... why so special? well... I'm a councilor remember? (gosh! See the ugly spectacles!!!)

Too bad I don't have a similar photo that shows how different we looked when we grew up. But I'm glad I got to know them. They formed the happier memories of my life. I still remember when we were silly and called each other things like "mother" (a guy!), "father" (a guy too!), "granny" etc... ;D

Another one of my very good friend from Secondary school is Phil (whose name shows up frequently here.. and I just had to mention him again). He's the one who introduced me to comics and computer games. (I'm not pushing the blame!) He's one person whom I am grateful to. For damn lots of reasons......

They are my real friends who accepted my quick temper, my laziness, my anti-social, my moodiness, my . . .
(sounds real bad)

and they are even willing to take leave so that they can go with me to KL for my wedding. *muackz*

.

The dark clouds quickly came by when I (and another 2 of my good friends) went to JC and the rest went into Polytechnic. Not that studying in JC is good or studying in Poly is not good. Just that we have lesser time to see each other. It becomes more difficult to act crazy together.

I had wanted to go into Poly too. However, I was restricted . . .

Mcdelivery....... ;D

Sat afternoons. Its either outside chionging or staying at home nua-ing. What do you do when you get hungry??

It just so happened today that I was having a headache. So we decided to order McDonalds. Those who ordered via phone will know that phone calls take long to be picked up. After the operators finished taking your orders (though all the "huh-ings") it takes another agonizing 45mins before the delivery man reaches your door step at the final 5secs before 45mins up.

So we ordered.... online! It so happened that we ordered online with Claire the other day and the service was fast and it was easy to order online as long as you had your debit/credit card with you.

Plus the additional entertainment when we were asked to fill in the delivery instructions.
*knock on the door 3 times and shout "food is here!" if no one open the door, turn around 3 times on the spot and knock on the door 3 more times, if no one answered, turn around 3 times again and bark . . . *

We decided to try again this afternoon .............

and hey the delivery is even faster. Food arrived in less than 20mins!

No more "huh-ing" on the phone with phone operators from now on!

我不配

I was browsing around on Youtube that day .. and saw this video ...

the song: 我不配

Singer : Jay Chou

Lyrics : Fang Wen Shan

Tune : Jay Chou

Different from a lot (I mean a lot .. not all) of people, I don't chase Jay's Songs though I like most of his songs but I like them not because Jay is 帅 or he sings well or whatever. When I listen to a song, I will take notice of the lyrics before the tune. Hence I never did notice this song before I see the MTV (and saw the lyrics) I was particularly attracted to :

这日子不再绿

又斑驳了几句

剩下搬空回忆的我在大房子里

电影院的座椅

隔遥远的距离

感情没有对手戏你跟自己下棋

还来不及仔仔细细写下你的关于

描述我如何爱你

你却微笑的离我而去

这感觉 已经不对

我努力在挽回

一些些应该体贴的感觉我没给

你嘟嘴许的愿望很卑微在妥协

是我忽略 你不过要人陪

这感觉已经不对

我最后才了解

When I saw this portion, I feel like crying .. not because there is something wrong with my relationship ... (no we're happy with each other .. bless us ;D)

Birthday Celebration at Sushi Tei and Liquid Kitchen!

Happy Birthday Yanxing!!!! Or rather, Happy Belated hatchday~

But we did gave him a pre-birthday celebration that day at Sushi Tei~

Look at food-satisfied YX! Haha! Glad he enjoyed his food~

I ordered Curry Chicken Katsu Don and its like ... erm .. sweet .. well, Japanese curry is sweet I guess it has got to do with the onions that they put into the curry. I love onions so I don't mind them. In fact, I like munching those onion pieces. Dar, however, hates to eat onions so he will always pick them out:

*tsk tsk* its bad to choose your food ~~~

Lucky we did not buy much cake but just enough for all of us to have a piece. However, customer service (non-sushi tei-related kind) is not that good. They didn't even help us put the cake into the fridge. So the cake didn't taste great. Or was it because the cake is not that great in the first place?

Present from Phil from Philippines Manila. And YX was trying to act fierce for our cameras but of cos he failed~ I've known him for so long and its very very very very~~~~ seldom I see a fierce expression on him.

Another pressie from Phil! Dark chocs with almond flakes inside. *drool~~~~* Even though its dark chocolate, the taste is sweeter and creamier in texture.

Yanxing trying to get past us to make the payment for the meal! Haha! Of course he did not succeed. Why should we let the birthday boy pay for it? (when we can make him pay for each and everyone's birthday next time~~*evil grin*)

So Claire gave her card to the cashier at Sushi Tei and ask him to hold it while we forced YX to hand us the receipt.

Wanted to watch Le Grand Chef so we make a trip down to Great World city, hoping that being more "ulu" there will be seats left on a Sat night. I don't usually like to watch movies as I find it quite boring to seat there and wait for the movie to happen. Claire says its comedy so its still "passable".

With Mr Street directory (aka 1900-yanxing) around, of course we can 环岛追追追 just by hopping on buses. He's the most famous street directory in Singapore and some say in JB!

Turned out, there are seats left in Great World but its the 1st row... duh~

Not wanting to risk neck pain, we decided not to get tickets and since Phil wanted to go home (he just touch down Singapore!) we decided to go with him.

To side track a bit.... can anyone spot anything interesting in the upcoming photo?

(3 secs more! hurry!)
3........2...........1!

Ans: the bus stop is ..... placed in the opposite direction. The poles that should be behind the commuters are now in front.

Can anyone tell me why is that so? Current suggestions are :
1. Engineers gone kooku~
2. Prevent buses from ramming into the bus stop.
3. There is no curb in front of the bus stop.
4. So that rain will not flow from the top of the bus stop onto the pavement.
5. ??

Talked about adventures of Old Changi hospital and eerie websites on the way to Phil's house while enduring the perfume from the woman sitting beside me.

Decide to chill out at Liquid Kitchen as we don't want to disturb Phil's mum with our maniac laughter.

Look at the menu! So cute!

and the guys .. mesmerized with ....

Soccer-on-TV-complete-with-stereo-sound-speakers

While we cam-whore and drink Salty Dogs....

They even provide some packs of cards for us people who don't worship soccer!

Though the Diamond 3 is missing.... =.="

Finally I get to learn how to play Chua Dai Di~ though its shocking to learn that they actually think of tactics to put the cards while for me .. its got what cards available, I will put... thats why I only won like twice??

Its a money spending night and a fun one... its been ages since we went out like that ;D

More upcoming outings in Mar?

Stretch marks and headaches

Puzzling over the title? We are going to talk about stretch marks! I have some marks on my thighs and initially I thought they were cellulite and gotten a headache trying to remove them. One day, I was chatting with Claire over it and I showed her my "cellulite" and hey she said they are not cellulite! In fact, those were stretch marks. She said they will form if I suddenly lose weight as my skin loses its elasticity, the extra skin got no where to go hence they form stretch marks. This will also happen during pregnancy. For a moment I was quite happy to know they are not cellulite. However, they became my source of headache again when I realized I won't look good wearing swimming suit! Then I remembered my ex-manager mentioned before that stretch mark cream can help to reduce the marks and make the skin looks smoother. There are even stretch marks prevention creams that can help to prevent stretch marks after pregnancy. In fact, there are many brands of cream nowadays. So many that I don't know which to choose from. Although I did hear of this brand called revitol stretch mark cream which was said to have the best value and result. Perhaps I should try some.

How to save money?

Some times we might want to buy some luxury goods such as video cameras, computers or even an ipod. Or we might just want something mundane like batteries, whiskey glass or even something as small as cling wrap. No matter what it is that we want to purchase, consumers will ultimately want something value for money. In fact, I know of many people who are willing to travel to different shops just to compare the prices of a camera they wanted. Savebuckets is a website based in England that allows price comparison of goods hence consumers can always find the lowest price available. Consumers can now shop according to their budget and if none of the goods available is within their budget, Savebuckets also provides a free service where consumers can leave their email and maximum price they are willing to pay. Savebuckets will then inform the consumers when prices of their desired items change. Shopping and comparing prices online are really good ways to save consumers time and money not to mention the hassle of traveling around to find the best valued items.

I can't chat on Ping.sg anymore~~ Boo Hoo Hoo!

People who usually see me on Ping.sg shout box during working hours ... and did so missed me a tinee winee bit during this week when I'm absent from Ping.sg.... I'm Sorry!!

sorry

I'm so arber TIRED!!!!!!!!!!!!

So tired and busy that I don't have the time to on the browser to chat at Ping.sg. I'm so behind on your chats and topics, I don't have as much time as before that I can read your blogs. I don't have the time to continue with "Themuxicbox Unrevealed! - Part 2"

For those who read up my blog, you will know that I've been transferred to my headquarters. The work load there is.............

MOUNTAINOUS! No I'm not bluffing ya!

The work load there is like X5 of my previous work load! I'm turning into a busy bee~

Photobucket

But before you guys scream at me (what's wrong with this crazy woman! Why is she complaining when she still got work to do??? Other people want to work also difficult @#$@#$##$.....).

I'm not complaining.

In fact I love it! Even though I come home from work everyday with a headache, my mind is clear. Even if I'm so tired, I had to sacrifice the time I use to play Audi or drop Entrecards, I welcome a rest after work.

I love it when I get home tired from work to be greeted by the number of tags in my Cbox (keep them coming!) or the number of emails in my Inbox or the dinner waiting for me on the table (bought by Dar).

I love it when I can fall asleep the moment I hit the pillow (now I don't have to send Twitter messages at 1am in the morning!) but most importantly, I love it when I have the sense of achieving something everyday after working. At least I am not idling around, struggling to find things to occupy my time or surfing the net and running out of websites to surf.

Tired but happy. I'm just so glad I got my transfer that I had to come and blog some nonsense to ya! ;D

Should I apply for a credit card?

I got lots of calls from tele-marketers after I started working asking me to apply for credit cards. Sometimes the calls come in like 3 or 4 per day and that got me frustrated since I have just started working and had not even reach the minimum salary requirement!

However, after working for a few years, I started thinking whether I should apply for a credit card. June has a credit card and so did Jianfa and a lot of other people. It seems to be a convenient way of using money though some strong will is needed to be able to keep oneself in check and not use too much of it else risk running into bad debt. Credit card is not a bad thing but the person using it should have some control over themselves. A lot of times, they choose to spend over limit without thinking about the consequences of over usage.

I did a credit card check and found that there are so many types of credit cards available! Interest free credit cards, credit cards for women, credit cards for students, Titanium cards and of course credit cards with lots of dining discounts!

I am so interested in signing up for the women's card though the yearly renewal fee or the minimum salary is much higher than other cards. But a credit card will come in handy when we go traveling overseas or when we need to make purchases for the baby (Not yet!) no?

Erm, advertisement gone wrong? I wonder what consumers will think when they see this ad. Will they buy the item? I certainly won't and I think my husband will switch off the tv if he ever sees this on TV. Video taken off here.

Themuxicbox Unrevealed ! - Part 1

If you are here for the first time, thank you for coming. For loyal readers, thank you very much for tuning to FM.themuxicbox. ;D

For those who personally know me, of course you will know how I look like and etc. For those who don't, well I may actually be:

or :

or simply :

but this post and subsequent others, are not regarding how I look like, its about me. And being not so young myself, the post will be divided into parts. What about me? well, my history, my likes and dislikes. I may lose myself and be off topic in the process but hey! That's also me.
So you can classified these posts under "self-centered" I don't mind ;D

I was born in Malaysia actually it wasn't meant to be like that. My mum just happened to be visiting her family while pregnant with me. And I just had to decide to come out and see the world ... how impatient!

Hence my nationality becomes "Malaysian" although both my parents are Singaporean. I came to be classified under "Minority" meaning I now have 2 nationalities and I have a choice to decide for myself when I reach 21.

Nationality to me is not important, though I am glad my parents brought me back to Singapore. (Sorry to my Malaysian readers, I do not mean Malaysia is not good. I don't have the capacity to say that)

Hence I live my life in Singapore for the rest of my life... till now at least and the near future. I still don't know whether I will continue living here. I used to have no feelings about where I lived as long as it suited my mood. As I grew older and know the difference between countries and living conditions, I grew to love Singapore. Though its not perfect, it gave me things I needed and it contained the things I love.

I grew up hehe (of course!) looking like Twitty bird as a child.

and being the vain me, I started posing myself in photos! Lolx!

But childhood hadn't been so fun and happy for me. Being the 2nd child of the family and a female, I was often neglected.

My mother is a traditional woman who thinks that "male first-born" is good. So naturally, my elder brother got all the attention and the good brain cells. The only thing that consoled me .. he is not tall *evil laughter* and my retribution for being so evil, is I am not tall too!

I was very active and a tomboy when I was a kid. Riding bikes, hanging out with guys and killing centipedes.

that stopped when I reached Primary school. I became more lady-like perhaps because I was forced to wear a skirt for uniform.

This was of course not my uniform. This was taken when my school organized this costume making competition. The wings were made by my dad using tracing paper and cane (those my mum used to cane me with lolx) Thats my little sister holding my hands. So cute then ... but now... Photobucket

Cash advancements

That day I told my assistant that I do not like to keep much cash in my pocket as that will prompt me to spend more cash. She answered me saying that it is always good to have some cash with ya as you won't ever know when you will need some urgently. That prompted me to think that what if I do have some urgent needs but I don't have cash in my bank? What if something happened and I can't wait for insurance payout? Or I sell my house at lower rate than I buy another? Or simply just timing that causes the cash flow problem. I can always get from banks. However, banks either required collaterals, minimum high salary requirements or take too long.

Cash Advance 1500 offers fast and unsecured payday loans and cash advances up to $1500 for people who needs money urgently to fund their checking accounts or other cash flow needs. You do not need high minimum salary or good credit reports to qualify. You can remain anonymous and away from the prying eyes of gossipy neighbors and relatives. At the same time, solve your problems.

Shopping Internationally

Do you buy online? Do you buy online internationally? Well, this is a funny way to ask the question as most people associate "online" with "international". I do buy online, however, its very seldom that I buy from international sites. This is because of the difficulty to make payment. I've seen very beautiful clothings and accessories in Taiwan/Malaysia sites or blogs shops from other places. I can't buy from them as they require me to transfer money via bank transfer. Sending money for 2 pieces of clothings is so difficult and costly using other methods.

If only they accept credit cards on sites! Then I can buy all I want. Here's a website that provides Credit Card Processing Services they provide the Lowest Rate Billing Payment Solutions hence Accepting Credit Cards on Website is no longer as costly. You do not need to be afraid of losing customers when cost is passed on, you do not have to worry about security issues. All you have to do is to plan how to catch customers on an international basis and build your reputation and clientele. Shop owners can now make money internationally and I can satisfy my shopping needs! ;D

Easy Funding

Of course, what use is it to think of starting up a business if there is no capital? And being a normal citizen, we naturally do not have the necessary collateral for start-up financing. Thinking about it, no banks will ever want to risk themselves by financing start-ups without something in return. Hence the most difficult part besides getting niche ideas, its to get start-up financing. EzUnsecured.com, is one site set up to help. With its fast processing, easy funding and excellent service, it allows new start-ups to get financing without collaterals. EzUnsecured.com does it by surveying your credit history with banks and other financial institutions and from there, it decides your credit. Higher your credit, the easier to get cash.

Security for Life

I believed many of us when young, seldom think much of buying insurances. In fact, we are all annoyed with telemarketers who keep calling us to buy from them. However, insurance is actually a necessity. It may not be a necessity for us but perhaps one for our loved ones.

Imagine who will be the ones to pay for hospital fees if one day, we need to be hospitalized? With the increasing cost of living and stagnant pay, hospital fees are big burdens. Imagine who will suffer, if you or your partner pass away? Its your parents, your kids in other words, your direct family members. Not only suffer emotionally but also financially.

Insurance helps in this case, as the payout from the compensation can help. Though not emotionally, at least the compensation makes sure your family do not have to suffer from paying hospital bills, funeral bills or everyday bills.

However, its good to try to Save Money on Insurance Premium. Reduce Premiums to the most affordable level so that security is achieve at the lowest cost. Get as many Insurance Quotes as possible to find the most suitable one for your needs and according to your financial status.

Change of place ... change of life?

I've just entered my company for not long ago. 6 months ... really not long.

Just got to know that I've been transferred to the headquarters.

How do I say? Should I feel happy or unhappy?

Happy as I do not have to travel for 1.5hrs every morning just so I can get to work.

Unhappy as I have to know people and learn all over again. (Just when I've started to grasps things here)

Happy as I will have more things to learn and more things to do.

Uneasy as I've heard things about there (not the ghostly type)

矛盾

Haha ... but thats how it is for now and I guess I just have to take it as it comes and to adapt to it.

Adaptation, isn't that what life is all about?

and the 12 days of xmas~

Look at the video!

Got this from Silin at Facebook. Watched it like 4 times in a row and still enjoying it.

I really 佩服the person who arranged this as well as the singers themselves. How difficult it is to sing "12 days of xmas" and yet they can do it so well + in different arrangements. Although its not perfect but this takes like so many practices and great confidence to sing and perform.

I wish people in Singapore can appreciate chorale singing and such creativeness more. Sadly, alot of people still think of choirs as simply stand-there-like-a-log and can only sing Halleluia. (And they make mindless jokes over it)

Advertlets down - I know I am late to blog about this but the main aim is not abt advertlets is my title too long? lolx!

Boring boring day! My life is like not so happening everyday ya know? I also have my stay-at-home-type-typity-type-on-my-keyboard times.

Today is one such day.

To tell the truth, I love to go out but I don't like crowds. I love to stay at home but I want something to do. Hmm .. contradictory? Not really but I am one such person who changes my mind and preferences rather quickly. You may say I am fickle but I am just restless and get bored easily.

What has this got to do with my post anyway?

Well ya see, besides those activities, I do regularly visit other bloggers' blogs. I do read those blogs I like and shun those I don't.

Even on my Entrecard sprees, I do read the random blogs I go to. At least the latest post.

So today, alone at home (and awake) I tried to visit some of the blogs I usually go to like mine! (duh~) Jojo, Dora, Janice, April, Xiaoboii, Trin, Bobo and Claire and lots of others whom I never mention here.

BUT~ I can't get to their blog today! (Cept for Trin and Bobo)

That's because Advertlets forgot to renew their domain and whenever I get to those blogs, I was redirected to the domain (main) site.

Even my own blog.....

So~ as fast as lightning or even faster~ I managed to take down all the Advertlets ad in both my blogs so that I will not lose any more new readers as readers usually get turned off if there is no convenience in reading blogs.

Those who happened to read this post and all the other blogs with regards to Advertlets, do please remove the Advertlets ads from your blogs until things can be resolved.

Dora, I'm not able to go to your blog to receive the award as it wouldn't load. I will go when I can ;D Thanks in advance.

It's a short one *notpornnotsexnotsomethingforcheekorpeks*

Something inspired by the ever-cruising-around taxis around my blk.

Just when I didn't want to take cabs anymore due to the raising price and stagnant pay.

No longer will I see the taxi uncle go round for the 5th time showing "busy" while waiting for booking calls. No longer will I have to wait for 20 mins for a cab to come by. What nostalgic feeling!

Song:
Sing to “Every Breathe you take”

Every move I take… *deng deng deng deng deng deng deng deng* I see them around~They never used to be.. anywhere round me before price increase~

Every move YOU take... *deng deng deng deng deng deng deng deng* is to earn my lui~

You should have reduced rent but I guess you never~ even give a Damn!

正当我想要缠 着大羽让我后方兔子

That day Claire asked me how come she can't see the feedburner icon on my blog.

In her words is "can you tell me whether I'm pak jiao? Cos no matter how I find, I can't see the feedburner icon"
*I did try to find the meaning of pak jiao in wiki but.... the rough guide is "cock eyed"*

In the end, actually what she wanted was to see my feeds in the wordings format without all the ads and trackbacks as she can't access my blog in her office.

She had to read my blog in chinese and she zenzen don't understand what the blog post is about! ;D

That's because she translated my blog from google Hong Kong. Some sentences can be translated while some were direct translation of what was written. Some jargons can't be translated e.g "lookie lookie" does not have a chinese meaning~

"Just when I wanted to pester Dar to let me rear bunnies~ ;D" becomes "正当我想要缠着大羽让我后方兔子“

The
让我后方兔子 sounds a bit... erm... porn-like?

Even I didn't understand what I was writing about after the translation. Lolx. I do hope none of my readers from Hong Kong translate my blog to chinese before reading it!

Look what I saw in a cab that day~ Marilyn Moo-roe! So cute!

Another cab: No Farting while sitting in a cab! (Poor cabby must have had lots of bad experiences)
