My blog haven't die ... yet

There are many kinds of bloggers. Naming a few and not trying to be sarcastic,

1. The blog-about-every-little-thing blogger. A blog post almost everyday. Topics can be from "I went with XXX to YYY and eat ZZZ" to "I @#$@# that AAA cause he always BBB" to "I feel bored."

2. The topic blogger. Specific topic on "I make money blogging to teach people how to make money blogging" to Soap, Anime, cooking etc.

3. The My-Life blogger. Details of life events, thoughts, ramblings and etc. Many of such blogs, I found interesting. Refer to "No. 6 The event blogger"

4. The Photo blogger. 'Nuff said. Photobucket

5. The Sleeping blogger. ... today I "ZZZZ"....Photobucket

6. The Event blogger. This kind of blogger can be overlapped with No. 3 The My-Life-Blogger and may have nothing much to blog about if thoughts and life have got not much changes. E.g Little Old Me.

And that explains why I did not update my blog for more than a week when I used to blog round 2 to 3 times a week.

Thats because the only events I had recently are blisters on my foot from walking to office every day. Not to mention my event Kakis are MIA-ing. Choir practices scheduled every weekend.

Of course I do not rot at home after work or choir. There were lunch outs and etc. Though none of them were new places.

I did go to Disney Naturally last Sat though and that will be on the next post since I am too busy nursing my blisters (Ouch~~~!) to upload the photos.

Stay tune~

Spagetti Too . . and Swensen's Gelato

Had our Sounds Easy choir practice today and thats 3 days in a row... not that I minded but we played Wii yesterday till 5am (5am~~!) ... ok well, not me but the other 3 people, I fell asleep at 2am... People say older people needed less sleep but as I got older, I seem to be needing more and more sleep Sleep

Feeling quite lethargic and that showed out in our singing, tired and flat voices *sweatz*. June of course noticed it and hence we were banned from playing Wii until the end of the June 14th performance ... (ok? Jianfa. . . )

A few days in the row and we ran out of ideas of where to eat for lunch... since we were discussing about food and desserts (at Yebber review) during rests in the practice, I suggested going to Spaghetti Too which received a rather good review from Rinaz...

====

Situated in a corner of IMM amongst those small stalls of tidbits like Taiwan Shilin Snacks and Sweet Talk, we had to search for the place and its not that easy to find without knowing the unit number.

Sitting down, the place looked quite clean and well-organized. Menu was clear and well designed. The system of ordering food was similar to Pasta Mania, you have to go to the counter to order the food.

While we were looking at the menu, the waitress came over on her own initiative and explain to us that there are some items of the menu that were not available. Polite, friendly, fast and have initiative. Thats good service attitude! ;D So we were not very concern about items being not available.

We chose our food and Dar went to order. Negative point was, no Nets payment available, we had to pay by cash. Thats alright since we do have cash on hand however, signs should be put up at the tables regarding this as some people don't like to bring a lot of cash with them.

While waiting, we were distracted by the chinese restaurant beside Spaghetti Too as the chef there was making something using dough and he was preparing the dough, making a lot of noises in the process.

Dar's Beef Pie came first with the drinks. Too much butter used on the outer crust, hence the taste was overpowering. The pie was more suitable for people who likes strong taste. For me, the beef was way way too salty....

Next came the Garlic Bread with Cheese and this will be what I highly recommend to people. Bread crust being baked to absolute crispiness while the center portion was soft. Cheese added to the chewiness at just the right amount. Not too cheesy or salty. Best eaten hot however, as the texture changes when left cold.

Next came the main courses, Dar and I ordered the Sirloin Steak promotion meal at S$7.90 including a drink. After the delicious garlic bread, we had high expectation of the upcoming meals. However, we were quite disappointed. Although the beef was cooked at medium well done and very tender to eat, the taste of the beef was covered by the sauce. Sauce was too much and too salty. Vegetables were average though a bit overcooked while the mashed potato was not smooth enough. On the whole, the dish can be said to be a bit above average. I will give around 7/10 as taste can be quite subjective depending on the person eating.

Claire ordered Grilled Salmon hot plate Spaghetti. Dish was below average with the salmon being not fresh enough and Spaghetti overcooked. As Claire put it : "I can only taste tomatoes in it with one clump of spaghetti..."

Ordered some desserts as well. Brownie, ordered by Dar, was too sweet and had to be eaten together with the ice-cream to taste nice. Portion was real big comparative to its price of S$2.50.

Claire ordered the Apple Cobbler . Like the brownie, it tasted good when eaten together with the ice-cream, otherwise, its just a sweet dessert. Perhaps thats why they were served with the ice-cream placed on top? It would be better if the Apple Cobbler was packed more tightly as it was practically crumbling apart while we ate it.

Best dessert of the day and highly recommended by me will be the Italian Chocolate cake. Warmed and served with ice-cream by the side, the texture was thick and I expected it to be too sweet. However, as I put it into my mouth, the cake was chewy, full of "chocoty" flavor and not too sweet. Tasted great with or without ice-cream.

Altogether, we ordered 2 Sirloin Steak promo meals, 1 Salmon Spaghetti Promo meal, 2 portions Garlic bread, 1 Beef pie, 2 extra drinks and 3 desserts and we spent $39.80! No doubt the main courses were not that great but they were above average. Side dishes, desserts as well as the service quality were of satisfactory level. Hence conclusion, Value for Money!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Back track to Saturday, we met up with my parents-in-law for a dinner at Foster's at Holland Village. After dinner while strolling to go home, we came across the newly opened Swensen's Gelato Parlor. Having some vouchers gotten when we went to eat at Swensen's, we decided to get some ice-cream for the Wii session on Sunday. Wii-tastic

Deco at the Parlor like typical ice-cream specialty shops like Gelare, Andersen's and Scoopz. When we went in, the manager explained to us their system for take aways. Take aways come in tubs of 500ml (2 flavors @ $9.30) and 1000ml (3 flavors @$16.30). We decided to get a tub 500ml and a tub 1000ml while my parents-in-law got themselves small cups of ice-cream (free since we have got vouchers but the original price was $3.30).

Service quality of the Parlor was very good, polite, friendly and not stingy on the portion of ice-cream even for the free cups my parents received. I will give 9/10 for them. Insulating job for the ice-cream tubs were well done too, using foiled paper bags and scotch tapes to secure the tubs.

Altogether, we bought Mango, Hazelnut, Passionfruit, Super Lemon and Soursop flavors and I must say, the selection available was quite limited. Other flavors we did not buy were Green tea, Blueberry, Durian, Raspberry and Pistachio. 2 other flavors I forgot however, it would be better if the variety increase.

The ice-cream flavors on the average, were on the sweet side with little fruits in them. Flavor weren't as full as I'll like them. Scoopz still remained as my favorite brand of ice-cream. Better flavors of the 5 we bought were Mango and Soursop but mostly because both fruits produce fuller flavor though I don't like the after taste of the the Mango.

and he's gone. . .

My Uncle passed away... due to Colon cancer and he just came to our wedding dinner not long ago in October.

Right after, he was diagnosed with the cancer...

Did not really have much of a memory of him since young. Like my father, his side of family members keep to themselves and are generally very soft spoken and quiet (totally opposite of my mother's side of the family). General impression of him is a sterned-face man who speaks little. However, he does treat me well and with respect which is surprising since he is the eldest uncle while I am just a very young member of the family. I still have memory of taking photos with him when I was very young and we went to my father's hometown for Chinese new year.
Nevertheless, although the loss is regrettable, its better than to see him and his family suffering due to the illness.

If you think of it, Men are very weak creatures... Haiz...

Stumble Stumbling Stumbs

Tagged by Trin

and this tag goes to .... everyone!

Here is the concept: Stumble the pages that link to you. In this way you drive more traffic to the page containing your link and thus you hope that some of that traffic comes back to you via the link on that page. Let’s modify things a bit and make our very own StumbleWorthy list. Why have a list, you say? A list is necessary for the participants to StumbleUpon . And also, it’s needed to check whether the participants are really Stumble-ing. Plus, it helps your Technorati authorities!

–START COPYING HERE–

Here are the rules:

1. Copy from "START COPYING HERE" to "STOP COPYING HERE".
2. Add your site(s) to the list. Just be sure to post the "StumbleWorthy List" at each site you add.
3. Let me know your blog’s name and url by leaving me a comment HERE . I will add you to the master list.
4. Come back and copy the master list back to your site, often. This will allow the new comers to achieve equal benefit as the late comers do.
5. Register in StumbleUpon and install the toolbar.
6. Go to the sites found on the list and give them a thumb up (I like it!).
7. Add me as your friend in StumbleUpon: Blanne.

Note: Your url will be deleted in the Master List if you do not comply to the given rules.

PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD! TELL YOUR FRIENDS ABOUT THE LIST. OR CLICK HERE TO GET A BANNER THAT YOU CAN PUT ON YOUR BLOG. THE MORE PARTICIPANTS, THE GREATER INCREASE IN TRAFFIC! :)

I've recovered and on my way

Thanks ya all for all the concern ya all have given to me cause of my eyes (the swollen ET eyes). I've completely recovered ... erm... ok my eyes have recovered but I'm still choking on mucous and phlegm and dizzying from headaches....Photobucket

Today also marks the last day I am with my company and will be going into a whole new environment on Weds.

To be honest, I am getting quite jittery over the new environment as I don't know what to expect, where to start and where to look.... ALL by myself... Photobucket

But still, I chose this because ($ $ $ $$!!) I found that I get bored easily and quickly lose concentration and motivation... As I've mentioned in previous posts, I will sign up and explore a lot of friends network, have an account in many blog platforms and etc because I just love to explore and see what is in it for me... Thats the same for jobs as well... so I guess, if I want to become interested in my work and to go into it, I have to make the decision even if its a hard one.

So this post is really to thank those who have been concerned about me as well as to act as an evident on my blog for me to remind myself the reason I chose this new environment.

My loyal readers who read this post, please do slap me with this post (if you still remember) whenever I get demoralized....

Photobucket

谢谢了!!Thank you~~

Personalized Baby Shoes

At this age, I can say most of my friends are prepared to get married and of course, giving birth. The headache that I have is of course the gifts that are appropriate for baby’s showers. Having not much of an experience, the best way is of course, giving money. However giving money may be practical, it loses the meaning behind. Flowers would not be a good choice as the baby or the mother maybe allergic to them. We can also choose to give baby items such as nappies, milk powder only that such gifts required some knowledge of what is the size of the baby or what milk powder can the baby take.

I feel that personalized baby items seem to be the best. Newborn baby gifts like personalized bracelets that the family can use or keep as memento or things like custom baby shoes with the baby's name and birth date on. Even after the baby had grown out of the items, they can still keep it for memento sake. Personalized baby shoes can also be for the elder babies who are going to Kindergarten as there won't be a problem of shoes mixing up as the baby now has the most unique pair of shoes that only the baby has! ;D

Scary ET eyes

Was having fever and headache last night. Not to mention the elephants living upstairs. They must be teaching their kids how to Judo or how to perform Acrobats. Not bad, soon, their kids will be able to earn for themselves. Too bad my downstairs neighbors don't have the habit of knocking on their ceiling. Otherwise I will have surround sound system absolutely free.

This afternoon, went to see doctor. All was well, just feeling down due to the fever and flu. Suddenly my eyes became itchy. Within half an hr they became

like this

Super strong medicine my doctor gave me... 1 hour after taking the medicine, I began to feel nausea, giddy and my heart beat became faster. I couldn't breath properly and I totally thought I am going to die. Fortunately all these became slightly more bearable and I was able to sleep.

3 hours later, woke up under the sounds of the acrobatic group upstairs. Shocked when I saw the mirror. My eyes became 2 small slits! Now I am the one looking like an elephant.

I hope the swelling will subside soon though the last time my sinus became this bad, it took 4 days for the swelling to go down.

Haiz....

But alls fine, whether my blog is important to Google or not, its a PR10 blog to me. ;D

Birthday Celebration and First time Wii

Went to Yif's house Sunday for Bdae celebration for the April babies --- Judy and Yif!

Was a pot luck dinner and we all brought some items like the Green curry Yif cooked, JF bought a cake, Renshi's Sotong Balls and Poh Piah, Didi's Prawns (Was supposed to be Crabs lolx) and mine... salad (Of cos!)

Our attention were all on Yif's Little JJ (actually thats not the name of her kid but since the kid resembles his father too much, we called him Jeff Junior). While JJ was shocked that there were suddenly so much people in his house. He seems a little shy at first and we girls have no experience with kids so we just stare at him and trying to catch his attention while exclaiming at how the father and son looked so alike.

(Cute cute JJ)

JJ warm up a little as my big "kid" Dar "disturbed" or rather, play with him. Soon he became talkative and wanted to join in the girls' chat even though he could hardly talk since he was only 8mths old. He simply loves to dash at us in his "Bulldozer" walker and gives us knocks at our ankle.... and also... he loves to pull at long hair and necklaces...

Arh~~ how time flies... its like 本来我们还是学生。。。一转眼。。。 结婚的结婚。。。 生小孩的生小孩..

Its only at this time ... then we realized time flies and doesn't wait for anybody. Regret doesn't make time comes back, it just makes us mature and realize that we should have thought more not that anyone of us had done anything regrettable.... I'm just trying to act Emo....

Too bad Jamie couldn't join us that day as she was studying for her exams... So glad she got the 上进心 to upgrade herself... so Ganbatte! and get some super great results!

JF brought along his Wii .. and we had a frenzy time playing with it.... so funny to see 3 big guys getting so excited over the machine. Not to mention us girls getting noisy over the game too... Yif's neighbors must be sweating cold sweatz over the noise we were making ...

This was also my first experience with Wii .. and frankly speaking... its so so fun! Even if its just a simple game of swimming or jogging competition.... But that will only be so when its not played alone. Having friends around and all acting silly makes playing on the Wii more fun than it actually was. But I won't be investing in one ... at least not in the short term as we are currently trying to save some money for junior H2 (soon lolx) ... I won't mind a sponsor though v(^.^)o
