10th Anniversary - MBS

27 Feb 2011 --It's our 10th Anniversary~! Not married for 10 years but together for 10 years~ hehe

Dar booked a room at MBS for today, there was a 15% discount for booking 14 days in advance.

Our room at 37th floor had a great view~~! Not able to see the Helix Bridge though we can see the "half peeled pomelo" ....

"The Room", is damn expensive (~$400 after the 15% discount) but is bigger than those standard rooms at other hotels. Bathtub is especially luxurious and in additional to a big shower area.

Went up to the Sky Park, per room card admits 2 persons and only hotel guests (staying) can go by the waters and in the pool. Great place to hold birthday parties....

Wanted to visit the ArtScience museum (half peeled pomelo hybrid Buddha's Hand) but Dar seems not interested so we can only walk around, shop around. Yeah, you got my meaning? There's nothing to do here~!

Not much eateries opened yet, so we decided to go to "Rasapura Masters", the food court at the Basement. Chicken rice set (set = rice + soup) is at $6.50 and the Hokkien Mee is about the same price too. Expensive, but those items we've had can actually be described as delicious. Especially love this egg custard bun, when eaten hot, the egg custard ooze out and the bun portion is smooth, not coarse.

This is the top portion of the fountain, we saw a lot of people trying to throw coins into the hole in the center. Not sure why though, but I bet once you manage to throw the coin into the hole, you will not become a multi-millionaire.

Night view~~ The best of the Sky Park.

There was a performer at the deck of the "ship" right below the pub. It's open to the public and some people treated the center as the dance floor. Looks real~~ly like a park. Outdoor park with live performance. Just that there's no grass to lie on.

The final bill came up to a whooping $500+~! Inclusive of a mandatory payment of $30+ for unlimited access of wifi in the rooms. We had dinner at "Rise", one of the cafes at MBS and it cost about $75 which we charged to the room too. An overall verdict, locals, just go once and that's enough unless you MUST swim in the pool or MUST look at the night view from Sky Park cause, except for throwing out your money in the shops & pubs, go to the museum and (ok~ok~) ice-skating. There's practically not much to do there.

Update and summary

I haven't been updating my blog. I won't say I am busy... though I AM busy... no wait am I busy?? Hmm ... (never mind~~)

Ok~ I admit! I'm plain plain lazy~ hey! Who won't be lazy right? Though my laziness is like for a damn long period of time.... (and I haven't even finish writing about my Cambo trip! (Still stuck in Day 1)

I've decided to continue on .... oh well... I will SOMEDAY continue to write on the Cambo trip anyway ... provided I still remember what happened. . .

Xmas 2008~ The usual steamboat dinner with Claire, Jing, Yanxing, Phil, Dar and I... This time, no wastages of food~~ but there seems to be a shortage *sweatz*

Erm... Faults partly Claire and mine... cause we finished up the carrots while waiting for them to come ...




My present from Yanxing...., also got an MP3 player from Phil, Female monkey hp dangler from Claire~ ;D Christmas's rather quiet this year...



Mahjong~~~ Oops .. I mean Chinese New Year~

Maybe you won't believe it but I don't know Mahjong AT ALL. By "at all" means they even have to teach me to differentiate the circles and the bamboos.

We actually were having dinner at Holland V and thinking about what to do after that .. movie, KTV or .....

Then *dink* it came to us, we can play mahjong~ but we don't have any ... how? So we went about looking for places that sells mahjong (set and table) at 10pm at night.....

We managed to find one at the market place near Hol V and (even harder) to get a cab willing to drive us back home (Mine)

After several rounds of trying-to-play-and-trying-to-explain-mahjong-to-total-klutz
I managed *yea~~~* to win a round by 自我的力量 (Own strength)

but we didn't play with money cause I've stop all gambling since Primary 4.

Then the God of the Gamblers (In the world of pooh bears and honey) came after their round of KTV (With the friends of the forest?)

and little old me decided to retire for the night to try doing the puzzle that should have been done a year ago....

yeah a year ago .. but I've only just finished doing the sides and gathered the puzzle pieces for major parts of the puzzle



Of course after the new year round of mahjong I've had another round of practice ... though I didn't have very great wins or play faster than the God of gamblers (In the world of pooh bear and honey) but I did managed to win a few times (thrice) more using




lolx .. but recently not only busy, tired and lacking in sleep .. I'm plagued by blisters, blisters and more blisters~~! Where else but from my shoes? But still, who told me to have the kind of feet which will blister wearing rubber slippers??
